Revision total hip replacement

Revision total hip replacement surgery is performed for a failed or complicated primary hip replacement. The revision surgery can be performed in one stage or two stages depending on the cause. During the surgery, your surgeon will approach the joint through previous scar. He will removed the previous implants and re-insert a new implants. During two-stage revision, the implants are removed in first stage and the new implants are introduced in second stage. Your surgeon might need to use a longer implant or metal augments.
