The combination of fracture of top of the one of the forearm bone (radial head fracture) with break in the supporting structure between the two forearm bones (interosseous membrane) is called Essex Lopresti injury. The tear in interosseous membrane is often missed. You may have pain in the wrist along with elbow pain. Your specialist will offer you surgical treatment which will consist of radial head fixation or replacement along with reconstruction of interosseous membrane with sutures and buttons.
