OK procedure also called Outerbridge-Kashiwagi procedure is performed for arthritis of elbow causing pain and stiffness especially when the pain occurs at the extremes of elbow movement. In this procedure, your surgeon will remove all the factors causing stiffness of the joint (debridement) in addition to making a hole in the centre of the arm bone (distal humerus) to avoid the mechanical block to movement. This procedure is expected to give you good pain relief in addition to movement for good few years, till you are considered for a replacement procedure.
