Hip Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure where the surgery is performed using instruments introduced into the joint through tiny cuts. It’s commonly indicated for painful hip in young adults especially in conditions such as femoral acetabular impingement (FAI). This procedure offers less pain, faster recovery and easy rehabilitation than open surgery. During the surgery, your surgeon will use special instruments called shaver, burr or radio frequency ablation to remove the damaged part of the joint or extra bone around the hip joint and also to repair the damaged structures such as labral tissue (labral repair). Following the surgery, you will be advised supervised physiotherapy for first few months after the surgery.
