This procedure is designed to improve symptoms of pain and stiffness in young patients with arthritis in the shoulder joint, and who are too young for a joint replacement. Here, the surgeon will perform a combination of procedures arthroscopically to remove damaged tissues from the shoulder joint; capsular release, stabilizing the cartilage fragments (chondroplasty), removal of osteophytes and loose bodies, acromial spur (subacromial decompression), and biceps tenodesis. This procedure has been successful in improving symptoms and delaying the need for joint replacement in majority of the patients.
