Priyadarshi Amit worked with us a Barts Health/ the Royal London Hospital in the UK as our senior upper limb fellow in orthopaedics and trauma for 12 months in 2020/2021. We are a busy major trauma centre and tertiary elective centre. Priyadarshi demonstrated superb clinical diagnostic skills and decision making. His operative skills were excellent and he refined many techniques he had already started to develop from his previous fellowship experience at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. He was a valuable member of the team and we wish him well on his future clinical practice.
I have known Priyadarshi Amit since he joined us as an arthroscopy fellow at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham in 2019. I take great pride in calling him my fellow. He was one of the best fellows we have ever had and I enjoyed supervising him through his fellowship tenure at our hospital. Over the one and half years he spent with me and my colleagues, he showed great progress in both his clinical and operative skills. He demonstrated excellent judgement with his clinical decisions and impressed us all with his talent and dedication. He is hard working, kind hearted and has a good rapport with patients and colleagues. He was an important and valued member of the team. He is a talented and dedicated researcher who is also keen on driving innovation. Together we have written three scientific papers which have all been published in world leading journals. I would have been happy for him to join me as a colleague, however he chose to return home. I wish him all the best for his future professional life.
Dr Amit is a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon who has completed several senior fellowships to become a subspecialist in shoulder and elbow surgery. Over the five years that I know and worked with Priyadarshi I have always been impressed by his dedication and diligence towards his work. He is professional and courteous in his approach to both other healthcare workers and patients. In theatre he has been able to demonstrate excellent technical skills and great aptitude in taking on the most complex of procedures. His decision making during operations is logical and sensible. He has shown commitment and significant effort towards research projects and we have recently had a paper accepted for publication in a high profile journal. I would be very happy to have him as a consultant colleague.
I have had the pleasure and honour in meeting and working alonside Dr Amit at York and Scarborough Teahcing Hospitals in 2021/2022. I can confirm that he is an extremely knowledgable and capable colleague in upper limb surgery and in general orthopaedic trauma. I found him to be very competant in all aspects of upper limb surgery, including shoulder replacements, arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs and shoulder stabilizations, ACJ reconstructions, tennis and golfers elbows, radial head replacements, bicep tendon reconstructions, as well as a variety of soft tissue procedures. Mr Amit has also shown to be compassionate to his patients, supportive to his colleagues and a teacher and mentor to his registrars and students. I consider Mr Amit a great colleague and a good friend.
“Recently consulted him and he relieved me of a persistent problem of pain in my right shoulder due to impingement by a clavicle plate fixed earlier. He is a genius, humane and full of humour. Competent professionally.

“Hi my name is Yvonne and I would just like to say how pleased I am that I met Mr Priyadarshi Amit at the time of meeting him I knew I had to have a right shoulder replacement, I could not move my arm very well and the range of movement in it was about 30 percent of what it should have been, I have rheumatoid and osteo arthritis. I met Mr Amit and he was very friendly helpful and professional, he told me I would have to have a reversed replacement in shoulder and I may not get full 100 percent of movement back but through him doing the operation and telling me how to go on with exercising I would say I have 90 to 95 percent movement back in the shoulder. I now need my left shoulder doing and wish Mr Amit would come back to England to do it, I have every confidence in him as he is so efficient and people who need to go to see him are the lucky ones.”
