Dr Priyadarshi Amit is a dual fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon. His main focus is surgical and non-surgical treatment of shoulder and elbow joint disorders. He specializes in both open and arthroscopic surgeries, providing world-class care to patients with sport injuries, trauma, and orthopaedic conditions. He performs both simple and complex surgical procedures on shoulders and elbows, including arthroscopic surgery, fracture care, and replacement procedures.
Dr Amit has over 15 years of experience in Orthopaedic Surgery. He has trained extensively both in India and in the United Kingdom. He obtained his undergraduate degree (MBBS) from JIPMER, India (an Institute of National Importance). He then completed his orthopaedic residency program (MS Orthopaedics) at the same institute, where he was awarded the Gold Medal for his performance. He is a Diplomate of National Board (DNB Orthopaedics).
Dr Amit was awarded membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (MRCSEd), and consequently relocated to the UK where he completed his speciality training in a NHS hospital. He gained his MCh (Trauma & Orthopaedics) degree at Edge Hill University in Lancashire and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, FRCS (England).
Dr Amit’s foremost fellowship was Arthroscopy (Sports Surgery) fellowship at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham (one of the five Elective Orthopaedic Centres in the UK). He subsequently completed an Upper Limb Fellowship at the Royal London Hospital, the largest trauma centre in the UK that specialises in shoulder and elbow surgery.
He has worked as Consultant Orthopaedic Upper Limb Surgeon at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the UK. He is currently heading Upper Limb Unit (Upper Limb Lead) at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad.
Dr Amit constantly pushes the boundaries of medicine, striving to improve outcome, functionality and patient satisfaction. He is currently designing, in conjunction with the industry, instrumentation to facilitate all-arthroscopic metal-free shoulder stabilization surgery.
Dr Amit has carried out research into shoulder, elbow and knee conditions, and has had many articles published in both national and international indexed journals. He is a review board member for several national and international journals including JOA, Shoulder & Elbow. Dr Amit has presented his work at national and international conferences, and has lectured and performed live surgery at scientific meetings.
