Distal femoral osteotomy

Distal femoral osteotomy is performed to correct malalignment of the leg where the knee turns inward (genu varus) or outward (genu valgus). Your specialist will perform a thorough assessment to measure the amount of deformity and plan osteotomy. During the surgery, your surgeon will remove a wedge of the bone from the lower part of thigh bone (distal femur) and stabilize the bone with metal implant (plate and screws).
