Superior capsular reconstruction

Superior capsular reconstruction is a procedure to improve the shoulder function, in patients with a major rotator cuff tear that cannot be primarily repaired (irreparable rotator cuff tear). This procedure is performed all-arthroscopically,  and your surgeon will first assess your suitability for this procedure. In this procedure,a biological tissue patch is secured above the shoulder joint with suture anchors to re-create the superior capsule. Following a period of rehabilitation with our physiotherapist, you will gain strength and painless movement in the shoulder.
