Total anatomic shoulder replacement

Total anatomic shoulder replacement is considered for patients with severe osteoarthritis of the joint who remain symptomatic despite non-operative treatment. The shoulder joint is a ball and socket joint between the top of the arm bone (humeral head) and the shoulder blade (glenoid).  Your surgeon will remove both damaged parts of the joint (humerus head and glenoid) and replace with the artificial implants consisting of metal and polyethylene. This procedure will provide you with an almost full and painless range of movement in the shoulder joint following a period of rehabilitation.
