Medial collateral ligament reconstruction

The medial collateral ligament is a soft tissue band providing stability on inner (medial) aspect of the elbow joint. In case of acute injury or tear to the ligament, the surgeon will consider acute repair with help of sutures or anchors. In case of chronic tears, the ligament is reconstructed using another tendon graft preferably taken from the forearm. You will be provided supervised physical therapy following surgery.
