Distal biceps tendon repair

The lower (distal) end of biceps tendon when detached from one of the forearm bone (radius) is surgically repaired to maintain function of the elbow. Your surgeon will make small cut in front of elbow and secure the tendon to its insertion site in radius bone using sutures and button. You will be given an arm support following the surgery along with supervised physical therapy. You are expected to return to normal activity in 2-3 months and return to sports at pre-injury status in approximately 6 months.
