Elbow fracture dislocation including terrible triad injuries often have break in the bone (coronoid or radial head fracture) along with tear in the supporting ligaments (medial or lateral collateral ligament). The surgery will include open reduction internal fixation of the broken bone fragments with metallic implants (plate or screws) or replacement with metal implant (radial head replacement). The torn ligaments will also be repaired with sutures or anchors. You may be given an elbow brace to wear for approximately six weeks after surgery. You will be provided with supervised physical therapy from the next day after surgery to regain joint movement.
